The Markets

All the active GCC markets ended on a positive note with Abu Dhabi leading the gains. The Kuwaiti index ended up rising 0.1% aided by the healthy performance of services and food stocks.

The Qatari bourse gained ground rising 1% amid buying across the market. Banks and financial institutions were the best performers. Dubai bourse rose 0.6% aided by the strength seen in small cap companies. In Abu Dhabi, banking and construction stocks pulled the index to a higher close by 1.6%. Bahrain Stock Exchange rose 0.1% despite the low number of securities traded. AUB, Al Salam, BCFC and NBB were the only stocks that traded in today’s session in BSE. Omani bourse gained 0.4% backed by the healthy performance of market blue chip companies. Saudi bourse was closed today.
