Manama – 17 May  2009 – Securities & Investment Company (SICO), the Bahrain based investment bank, announced today that it has maintained its leading position as the most active broker on the Bahrain Stock Exchange (“BSE”) both in terms of volume, Value and number of trades for the tenth consecutive year.

The Firm completed a total number of 21,744 transactions, equaling almost 25% of the total transactions completed on the BSE during 2008. This represented a total trade volume of 1.35 billion shares equating to a total value of over BD651 million (USD1.7 billion), representing a market share of 41.4% of the total value of all shares transacted on the BSE in 2008.
